Handling procedures for seamen's mustering applications.

Due to an increasing number of applications, the Embassy needs to improve the preparations made by the agents handling seamen's mustering cases to avoid lengthened handling time. We ask all agents to pay attention to the following when preparing applications for seamen:

Questionnaire F for seamen

  • As a routine applications should be submitted to the Embassy's consular section/visa section between 15.45 - 16.00 on any working day.
  • Normally, the Embassy needs a maximum of 3 days to process applications.
  • In cases where shorter handling time is needed this may be requested. A special appointment should be made in advance for each case by e-mail:   Please be advised that shorter handling time might not always be possible and should only be requested in exceptional circumstances.
  • All documents submitted must, without exception, be stamped and signed originals. Scanned or faxed documents will not be accepted. Agents handling applications on behalf of seamen may obtain authorization from ship owners to sign and stamp applications on their behalf. This authorization must be sent to the Norwegian Embassy in original. All later applications submitted by agents, on behalf of these ship owners, must contain a copy of the authorization.
  • All applications must contain information about who the handling agent is and contact information (preferably e-mail) that can be used in case of questions or missing documents. Faulty and incomplete applications will be returned.
  • All applications must, as before, contain certificates and documents as stated at The Norwegian Maritime Directorates web page - http://www.sjofartsdir.no/en/Frontpage/
  • In addition, the Embassy request that agents take one good copy of all certificates, seamen’s book (personal information page and previous mustering), Passport (personal information page) and Health Certificate (other health documents is not needed). All copies should be collected in a plastic folder and submitted with the application.
  • We also ask that Employment agreement is submitted in 2 signed ex’s, signed and stamped (3 when applying for CRA). Collect them in a paper clip.
  • All applications for CRA must contain 2 original pictures.
  • The mustering fee is 500 UAH
