“To be a poet is to see – Ibsen in our time”

An exhibition highlighting the universal themes of Henrik Ibsen’s work

The exhibition “To be a poet is to see – Ibsen in our time” is currently touring the world. It highlights the universal themes Ibsen explored in his dramas, which are still politically relevant today:

  • political power
  • idealism
  • globalisation
  • gender equality
  • corruption
  • individual freedom
  • child neglect
  • freedom of speech
  • environmental protection

A number of socially dedicated people have been invited to present their reflections on these themes. Their opinions and thoughts are presented in showcases or on posters together with excerpts of Ibsen’s work. A brochure with additional material has also been produced for the exhibition.

The exhibition has been produced in the following languages: Arabic, Chinese, English, French, German, Russian and Spanish. The poster version is also available in Bosnian, Finish, Greek, Japanese, Latvian, Romanian and Hungarian.
