News for Belarus visa applicants!

From the 1st of October 2012 the French Embassy in Minsk will no longer process visa applications from Belarus citizens travelling to Norway. 

The Swedish Embassy in Minsk will start processing visa applications from Belarus citizens travelling to Norway from the 1st of October 2012.  The applicants who wish to apply at the Norwegian embassy in Kiev can submit their documents at VFS’ Visa Application Centers in Kiev, Donetsk, Kharkiv, Lviv and Odessa. Applications will still have to be registered online at https://selfservice.udi.no.

Norway does not have a diplomatic mission in Belarus. The Norwegian Embassy in Kiev is thus accredited to Belarus. A Belarusian citizen who wants a Norwegian Schengen visa may either apply at the Norwegian Embassy in Kiev or at the French Embassy in Minsk, representing Norway in visa matter in Belarus. Belarusian citizens who want to apply for a Schengen visa to Norway at French Embassy in Minsk must bear in mind that the applications will be handled in accordance with French and Schengen regulations. The Norwegian Embassy in Kiev is not involved in the French Embassy's processing of visas. Should the French Embassy not be able to issue a visa, a formal rejection will not be given to the applicant. The Belarusian applicant will be informed that he/she may lodge a new visa application at the Norwegian Embassy in Kiev.
