Norway's support to Ukraine in 2015

Last updated: 06.11.2015 // The total support for 2015 is approximately NOK 310 mill which is equivalent to EUR 36.35 mill. The main purpose of Norway’s support to Ukraine is to support the Ukrainian government in its efforts to implement reforms.

Budget Support Ukraine 2014-2015

Support the Ukrainian Government's work to carry out reforms. 'This support for Ukraine is important for helping to achieve essential restructuring and modernisation,' said Minister of Foreign Affairs Børge Brende.

The disbursement of budget support from Norway follows the World Bank's approval, on 25 August, of the progress made in Ukraine's extensive reform programmes. In 2014, Norway made fulfilment of all the requirements set for these reform programmes a condition for the disbursement of Norwegian funds.

Ukrainian children write about democracy

Ukrainian children aged from 7 to 17 years will participate in a literary contest and share their experiences and thoughts on the ongoing events in Ukraine since the end of 2013. The purpose of this project is to raise awareness of the views of Ukrainian children and discuss and distribute the results of this competition to state and non-state actors who are working with children.

Citizen 2015 Youth Initiatives in Local Communities in Ukraine

In order to improve the participation of youth in local decision-making processes a competition will be organized initially on regional and then on national level. Pupils will need to choose a socially significant problem within their school, neighbourhood, village, district or city and then by exploring the problem define how to solve it. The best examples will be summarized and published as educational materials to be used in Ukrainian schools.
