Due to peak season and an increase in the received number of applications the Visa Section wishes to inform about the following.
01/06/2007 :: No applications will be fast-tracked unless in case of serious illness, death or other very strong compassionate reasons – documents proving this must be submitted together with the application for a visa.
• Processing time for a visitor’s visa is ten-10 working days. Some cases will need additional consideration time. In case of the latter the applicant will be informed by the Embassy.
• There are three possible results of the Embassy’s processing of an application for a visitor’s visa:
1. The application for a visa is granted.
2. The application for a visa is refused.
3. The application for a visa is forwarded to the Norwegian Directorate of Immigration for further handling.
• In case the application for a visitor’s visa is processed before 10 working days – the Visa Section will call the applicant and inform about this.
• Applications missing documents according to the checklists over documents advised to be submitted with an application for a visa, will be immediately refused or forwarded to the Norwegian Directorate of Immigration. Processing time for visa applications at the Norwegian Directorate of Immigration is at the time being between 5-9 months.
