Au-pair

Last updated: 12/05/2011 // The purpose of the au pair scheme is cultural exchange. As au pairs, young people can improve their language skills and knowledge of Norway and Norwegian society by living with a Norwegian family. In return, the au pair performs services such as light housework and child care for the host family.

In order to be granted a residence permit as Au-Pair it must be probable that you will return to your home country at the end of your stay, and circumstances in your home country must also indicate that you will be able to return. In additional you must be over 18 and not be turned 30.

Documentation List:

·         Cover letter you received as confirmation on your e-mail (In your inbox this confirmation e-mail can sometimes appear with the title: ”application received”.) (PDF attachment) after you registered your application and booked time for submitting documents at Application Portal

·         Passport photo not older than three months

·         Passport and copy of used pages. Please be aware that there should be at least two free pages marked “ВІЗИ / VISAS”.

·         One copy of all 16 pages of the domestic passport for Ukrainian citizens and for Moldavian national identification card applies

·         Insurance with proof of covering travel back home in case of illness, injury or death in the whole period you are au-pair in Norway. 

·         Standardised Au-Pair contract signed by yourself and your host family

·         Please fill out and sign: Important information on rights and obligations for au pairs and their host families 

·         Copy of host family’s passports

·         Optional: A signed power of attorney to the host family

You may also enclose the following documentation:

·         documentation that you have had legal residence in the country that you applied from for the past six months if you applied from a country other than your home country

·         if the host family is a single-parent family, you must document his/her percentage of the responsibility for care and control of the child(ren)

 

Please remember to tick of the enclosed documents in our Document list 3 and bring the list together with the documents to the Embassy.
